Claude for a retail chain, answering questions about purchases straight from the company's database
A retail chain wanted its team to use Claude every day and ask about purchases and sales without opening spreadsheets. We set up Claude Team, connected Claude to the company's database and its Microsoft 365 folders, and left a user manual.

01
Problem
The request was setup and training, but the real value was Claude giving the right numbers. Reading spreadsheets, it only received part of the rows and added them up as if they were the total, with no warning; and supplier purchases were being mistaken for sales.
02
Solution
A custom connector that links Claude to the company's database in read-only mode, with no write route at all, totals calculated in the database itself and a warning when a read is cut short. Alongside it, the Microsoft 365 connector, context organized by department and our admin access removed at the end.

Result
The first stage, the purchases connector, was ready in 3 days. The team asks in Portuguese and gets the total calculated in the database, not the sum of a sample.
